What You'll Learn
How To Build a Career
Learning the technical skills is not enough to be a successful filmmaker. Get insight from professionals in the business on what it takes to start your own filmmaking career.
The Pre-Production Process
You’ll be coached through the process of making a short commercial based on a client brief, including concepting, writing the outline, storyboarding and planning for production.
The Production Process
Learn about cinematography, lighting, set design, makeup, sound and more while working hands-on with the teachers for both a client film and a student film.
You’ll be brought on set of the official academy production and get valuable experience with how a set operates, set etiquette, teamwork, working in your assigned department, and more.
After-Hours Classes & Networking
At the close of each day there will be time for you to network with the teachers and other students. In spite of the intense schedule, time-permitting you will have an hour or two of free time each evening, and of course there’s the wrap party to look forward to at the end of the week!
Who Should Attend?
For many of us as beginning or intermediate level filmmakers, there's often this gap of sorts. We know where we want to go, we have the passion for film ... but we just don't know how to get there.
If you feel this way, you’re not alone. Here at the academy, we’re passionate about helping you find the bridge across that gap. Whether you're just starting out or have been doing some work on your own, the Academy offers an intensive hands-on experience to help you get your filmmaking career on the way to success.
